HardwareZone.com, a Singapore-based
business-to-business and business-to-consumer IT portal, has just
received first-round funding of S$1.5 million from a group of
angel investors which include Ng Tee Khiang, founding chairman
of MediaRing.Com
Ltd.
The portal, founded by a group of National University
of Singapore (NUS) undergraduates provides pegged-to-market price
listings of IT components as well as complete systems, IT product
reviews and an integrated community platform for consumers and
vendors.
HardwareZone.com has formed partnerships with supply
and demand chain infrastructure players like Acefusion.com
and 3Fusion and launched a hosting service and affiliate
programme to capitalise on its content and drive e-commerce activity.
The S$1.5 million raised will be used to expand the companys
pan-Asian operations.
